How do you know? Because Āreta and Trish just when out to find something to sell.


What do you think the author means by regular people when he says “...back when regular people
could still get petrol.”?
  • I think he means that back when you could get petrol the world wasn’t polluted but now
  • people are just lazy and throwing their rubbish around.

In this story, what exactly does the Forest refer to?
  • In the story forest is in the water filled with lots of tubines


Where is this story set do you think?
  • The Sky tower
What are the clues that tell you this?
    • Because in the book it says, Across the water, towards the city, the sky tower
    • lighthouse jutted through the haze.



Why is Grandma Trish so excited to find a Kahawai again. What has happened to them?
  • The water was polluted and all the Kahawai died or swam away.
Explain why you think this.
    • I think this because because in the pictures i could see lots of rubbish  in the sea
    • and lots of dead fish and the air looked really yuck.


Why do Trish and Āreta let the Kahawai go back into the water?

    • Because Areta was sad and said to Trish there might be more fish and i mean fish’s.
    • That's why they let the fish go.

This week my number is 156


Task Description: For this task our teacher said what our number is 156 we had to write with the scribble line then we had to write it in expand form then word form and more or less, place value using blocks and money also number line. We also had to find out if the number was a even or odd and 156 is and odd number last bit we had to round the number t the nearest 10 and 100. I really loved doing this task.

All About Me



Kia Ora,Talofa and Greetings to you all. Welcome to my blog my name is Zamera
I am 10 years old, I am a year 6 at Pt England School. I live in Auckland,Glen Innes.
I come from a family of six, my mum’s name is Rachel, my dad’s name is Nathan, my
sister’s name is Juliet, my other sister’s name is Shea-les and my brother’s name is
Jeremiah. I am from Niue, New Zealand and Cook island.

I love Butter Chicken. That is my favourite food. My favourite movie is 2012 because
it is really interesting. I am a supporter of the Bull Dogs and All Blacks. I am also a
fan of Sonny Bill Williams and Bodie Barret .I play four sports and that is Netball,Rippa,
Rugby and Cricket. My favourite colour is,Blue because the sea is Blue and Green
because it is the colour of the grass. In the weekend I love going to the beach with
my family.

At school I love learning about Maori and getting better at it because I want to learn
more about my mihi and giving it a try.I want to be better at Maths and Reading.
My goal is to learn my divided by and timestable off by heart

Number of the week


Task Description: For this task we had to choose a number and the number is 67. I had to show this in different ways. We had to write 67 in different ways like Place Value using Money and using blocks lots of thing and there all on here. We had to Expand it into form and round it up to the nearest 10 and 100.I learnt that 67 is an odd number.

Learning to tell the time

WALT: to be able to write the time in word form and number form.WALT: explain my day using time

Task Description: For this task we learnt how to tell the time. We also learnt how long we are awake and asleep for. We learnt the digital, analog and written form of telling the time. We had the chance to attempt the Bronze,Sliver and Gold challenges. I solved out the the small hand points to the hour and the big one points to the minutes and i solved out the Bronze and Sliver Challenge.
