Ko Wai Au


Task Description: For this task we watched a short video of a girl saying what culture she is and how people think she's not Maori because of her skin colour. When we finished watching the video we had to answer three question about the video. My opinion on this video is you should never judge somebody off there skin colour because you could be wrong about there culture.

3D shapes again- Maths


Task Description: Today we were learning about 3D shapes again. We had to name each shape on slide four but it was prism shapes when we finished we had to create our own shape with straws and I forgot the other thing we used. Then we had to fill in the table to show the properties of each shape. We had to do the same on slide 8. This task was a bit hard.

Te Reo Maori- Kia ora


Task Description: For this task we learnt some new Maori words. What we had to do was choose the right word for each speech bubble and put the write response in. Then on slide 8 we had to choose the right day for each speech bubble. Then on slide 9 we had a create task to do. The create task was fun and this whole task was fun and easy.

3D Shapes


Task Description: This task we were learning more about 3D shapes. On the first slide we had to group some of the shapes and describe there properties, then we had to mold a 3D shapes with clay. I made a Pyramid and after we made the shape we had to write down the properties of the shape. When we finished that we had to name each shape on slide 6 and then on slide 7 we had to fill in the table and write down the properties of each shape. This task was hard and easy.

What is a Sterotype


Task Description: For this task we had to watch this video made by Joshua Losefo. He is talking about brown skin people and saying that they can achieve things but they think they can't. After we watched the video we had to answer three question.  This task was nice and easy because we only had to do three things.

All rivers flow to the sea- Literacy


Task Description. For this task we learnt about a clause, we had to highlight the subject and the verb. We had to highlight the subject green and the verb blue. We also had to read a text on slide four which was about a girl that had an accident with her sister. Then we had to answer three question about the text and when we finished that we had to write down short simple sentence's below each image and it must contain on clause. Then on the last slide we had to write one time where we felt apprehensive about a new situation.

The Triangle- Maths


Task Description: For this task we learnt about angle's and different types of triangles. What we had to do was name the angle's on slide four, there were different types of angle's like the reflex angle, obtuse angle and many more angle's. Then on slide 6 we had to name the triangle's. Like the equilateral triangle and many different ones. This task was hard at first but then easy.

Te Whare Tapa Wha 5

Task Description: This task was nice and easy. What we did was watched a video of some nice things to say to people. Some were, you can have a corn dog, let's dance and lots of other kind things to say. When we finished watching the video we had to write down three things we should say more often, my three things were life can be tough but so are you and some other things. This task was fun to do because it was easy.

The Quadrilateral


Task Description: For this task we were doing maths. What we had to do was learn about quadrilaterals, that is a hard word to say and also a long word to say. On slide four we had to drag the shapes into the correct category, I think I got some wrong but I tried my best, then on slide 5 we had to sort the shapes into the right boxes. On the last slide we had to find the angle because the interior angles always add up to 360. This task was nice and kind of easy to do.

Washing your hands- Diagram

Task Description: We had to create a diagram on how to wash your hands. Taking the pictures was really hard because I had nobody to help me but I manged to take some pretty good pictures. I hope you enjoy my diagram. :)

Washing your hands- Reading

Task Description: This task is our reading task for the week. What we had to do was write down on slide number 2 what we already know on how to wash your hands. My answer's were to use soap and water, clean under your fingernails and more. Then when we finished that we had to read a text about how to wash your hands, then when we finished reading it we were assigned to a paragraph each. We were in groups but we could work on it our self's.  We had to break the paragraph we were assigned to into word groups, then write down the main point of the paragraph, the supporting detail and then what do we now know about it. After that we had to do a diagram on how to wash your hands and then write down some steps on how to do it. Then at the last slide we had to write down what we now know about washing our hands,

Te Reo- No hea koe?


Task Description: For this task we learnt new words. Our new word was No hea koe?, which is where are you from. Then we had to choose the right word for each speech bubble. We had to answer with were are those people from, we had two slides of these to do. After we finished that we had to do a create task, on the create task we had to use the new phrase we learnt and ask someone where there from, I did my friend Sonnia. We could create a poster or comic strip, I created a poster which is on slide 8. On slide 9 is my video of me explaining my poster. This task was nice and fun to do.

Maths Polygons


Task Description: For this task we had no hangout. We were learning about polygons. What we had to do was read what a polygon is, then had to name each regular polygon on slide four. After doing that we had a create task to do which was making our own polygon then we had to explain what is was. I tried to create a heptagon and yes I know I didn't make the shape up but I wanted to do because it looked hard to do. This task was nice and easy to do. :)

Shapes that belong together

WALT: group basic 2D shapes based on their properties

Task Description: For this task we had a nice and easy task to do. What we had to do was on the third slide we had to choose which shape we thought was the odd one out, then we had to explain why we thought it was the odd one out. We had to also do the same on slide four but then on slide five we had to group the shapes we think should be together. When we finished putting the shapes together we had to explain why we out them together. This task was nice and easy to do, shapes are hard for me but learning more and more about shapes has really helped me. I'm still at home :)

WODB- Shapes


Task Description: For this task we had to look at the four shapes that were on each slide and deicde which one doesn't belong. This task was a bit hard for me because there were some shapes that I didn't know about, or I just forgot the name. But this is the last maths task of the week because it is Thursday today. This task was nice and fun.

Tech Steampunk- Sketch


Task Description: For this task we just had to sketch out an idea for our steampunk design. We weren't actually going to make our sketch because we didn't have much time and also because it's our last day in our tech group, next week we will change tech groups. My sketch was a lunchbox jet pack, it involves two bottles, a lunchbox, tape, milk lid and harness straps. When you put it together it would kind of look like a jet pack. I enjoyed my tech group because it was really fun.

Shapes- Maths


Task Description: For this task, we were just going over shapes. We had to write down what we know about the shapes on slide 5. We had to write down how much sides it has, are the sides equal, the interior angel and the lines of symmetry. For me some of these shapes were had to find the symmetry line, the interior angles but at the end I manged to finish it. I really enjoyed this task because it was nice and easy and fun.

Kei hea a Amo? Te reo


Task Description: For this task we learnt new words. But in Maori. Maori is one of my cultures, but I find it hard to pronounce some of the Maori words, so please don't judge me for when I speak for my create task. For this task we had to choose the right word for each response. After that we had to do a create task and create a conversion between me and someone else. I had nobody so I did my self. Maths- Don't forget


Task Description: For this task we had to just go over somethings before we forget it. We were just remembering squares, multiples, square roots and factors. Then after we finished that we had to answer some other problems and show our strategy. When we finish we have to post it on our blog. I got stuck on some question but I tried my best to answer them the best I could.

The Hydorsphere


Task Description: For this task we had to learn about the hydrosphere. Do you know what the hydrosphere is? Well at first I didn't but then we started doing some research abut the hydrosphere and then I started knowing more and more about it. What we had to do was write down what we already know about it, what we want to know and what we learnt. Then we had to write down what the hydrosphere is. When we finished that we had to make a poster, diagram or something to show what we know about it.

Tech- Answering Question About Steampunk


Task Description: This task was for tech. My tech group was hard material, my teacher was Mr Grundy for Tamaki college. What we had to answer question about was about Steampunk. First I didn't know what steampunk was it was something new to learn. But our first task was to answer four question about steampunk. The first time I did it was alright but my teacher said I can improve by adding in some pictures to give ideas about my answer about the question. Learning about steampunk was really fun to make. Goodbye Graphs- Maths

WALT: communicate findings using appropriate displays
Task Description: This task was easy to do and fun. What we had to do was answer some question, some question were like what can we tell from this graph, what are some issues with this graph and other questions. On the last slide we had to write what our favourite type of graph is, what we want to learn more about in the future and what are some key things we need to remember when making a graph. The reason why we did this was because we are saying goodbye to the graphs.

He tino pai- Te reo

WALT: express our likes, dislikes and make compliments

Task Description: For this task we had to learn three Kupu Hou, Kupu Hou is new words. The new words were He pai which is, it's good, He tino pai which is it's very good and Kao which is No. We had to make a list of different things we like and dislike, I really like playing cricket, I also really love eating Hangi and I don't like the movie Annabelle because it's scary. I'm not a fan of scary movie's. After that we had to choose the right word to complete the response. When we finished that we had to do a create task, I love doing create task's. What we had to do was create a comic strip or a poster of our-self saying these new words but with someone else, I had nobody to talk to because everybody was busy with other things so I decided to talk to Jeffree Star-( I didn't really talk to him). Then we had to create a video of our-self saying it. This task was really fun to do. (I had nobody to do it with because everyone was busy, so I decided to pretend like I was talking to Patrick from spongebob)

Maths- Which Graph?

WALT: communicate findings using appropriate displays
    Task Description: For this task we had to write down the right graph to go with each data that is being provided. After we finished doing that we had to connect the right data with the right graph, after that we had to do a create task which was to make a graph to show data that is being provided. I choosed a Bar graph because it is easy to read and also easy to make. This task was really fun to do and also easy. I may have got some wrong or all of it wrong but I tried my best. :)

Reading- Inside Earth Week3

WALT: take effective notes

Task Description: For this task we were doing note taking. We had to peer up, I was with my buddy Austin. Each peer got given two paragraphs to take notes on and that was to break the paragraph up into word groups, then write down the main point, extra detail and then notes. Me and my buddy got given paragraph 7 and 8. This task was nice and easy and also fun to do.

Tectonic Plates- Inquiry


Task Description: For this task we had to watch three videos about tectonic plates. Firstly we had to watch the first video on slide number one when were done that we had to watch one of the videos on slide number two, then we had to write down what are tectonic plates. After we finished that we had to write what is an earthquake and what is a volcano. After that there were three other videos we could watch if we wanted to.

Reading- Week3

WALT: identify and summarise key information in a text

Task Description: The WALT for this task is to identify and summarise key information in a text. For this task we had to write down the things we already know about the earth's structure, I only know a little bit of things. Then we had to watch a video about the earths layers. We then had to paste in the text and break the words down into word groups. This is the second time I have broken words down into word groups. After that we had to watch another video but we also had to use a graphic organiser to gather as much information as we can. We had to watch the video three times so we can catch some information, then when we finished that we had to break another text into word groups. After we finished that all we had to write 2 or 3 sentences to summarise the text and then write down what we learned about the earth's layers.
