Persuasive Writing- Rona and the Moon

Rona should not have said those terrible things about Marama, the moon. Marama does not control the clouds, so when the cloud went in front of Marama she can’t just move it out of the way. Marama had the right to feel insulted because Rona said the rudest and worst thing someone could ever say to another person.

Rona should have also used her common sense, you shouldn’t be running down a path at night because it’s dangerous. Also when it suddenly went dark she should have just stopped running and walked. If you're running there’s a high chance you're gonna have a bigger impact if you fall, but if you're walking there’s a lower chance of you falling hard.
Task Description: This is my writing task for the week. What we had to do was pick a Stance, Stance 1 was supporting Rona of her action's on how she insulted Marama or Stance 2 which was the other way around which is not supporting her. I picked stance 2, I then had to put down five points, then I had to pick two and put them in paragraphs. I had to write why she shouldn't have done what she did.

Rona and the Moon

Task Description: This is my reading task for the day. It is about Rona and the moon. We first had to listen to the story of Rona and the moon, then we had to watch a video of Rona and the moon. We then had to read Rona and the moon and The Moon story. We had to make a story board of the story Rona and the Moon then we had to break the text into word groups on slide 6. After we did that we had to do a recording then put down some worthy words. It's sounds like a lot of work but it is worth it because our learning will get better.

Rona and the Moon- Retelling of the Story

On a bush-clad hill above a peaceful valley was the home Rona shared together
with her husband and children. At night they would listen to the sounds of the
valley: a family of kiwis whitening to each other in a high pitched voice, the sound
of Tawhirimatea and many other beautiful natural sounds.

Rona and her family would watch the night sky as it became bejewelled in twinkling
stars. They always loved to gaze at Marama, the moon. Marama, enchantress of
the nights, as she walked the sky. Life at Rona's was peaceful and very good.

One night when her children were asleep, Rona was getting ready to
lay on her mat when her husband Tiroha wanted a drink of water so he
went down to the clashbashes, but they were all empty. What a fit Tiroha threw.
His impatient yells shattered the night, isn’t it a woman's job to fill the
clashbashes? He said. He roared and complained, Rona couldn’t take it grabbing
one empty clashbash she headed down to the creek.

Mattering under her breath, “Am I the only one in the house capable of
carrying water?”. Marama gazed quietly down from her high vantage point.
Rona’s path was washed with the moonlight as Rona tramped down the path.
Down past the kahikatea grove the world went dark. A great black cloud had
moved across the moon’s face. Rona trudged on the pitch blackness, feeling
sorry for herself.

The next thing she knew, her foot got caught in a root and down she fell,
flat on her face. The clashbash flew from her hand and smashed into the ground.
That was the final straw. Up Rona got shaking her fist at the moon, cursing with
all her might. Rona said some nasty things which were the rudest and the worst
insult you could say to anyone.

High above Marama heard Rona’s curse and chose to feel insulted.
Down out of the sky she plunged. She took Rona by the waist and pulled.
Terrified Rona grabbed onto a nearby tree trying to hold on as tight. The moon
tugged and pulled, Rona was begging to be let go but her pleas fell on deaf ears.
Next thing she knew was she was in the home of Marama, the next morning her
husband and kids tried to look for her but she was nowhere to be found.
Rona screamed from the moon and her kids and husband heard her, Rona’s kids
were begging for their mother to come back, what do you know she never did.

Decimal Fractions 1

Task Description: This is my first maths work for our second lock-down. This task if about Decimal fractions, this is only level 1 because I need a reminder of how to work out decimal fractions. In this task we had to work out how many tenths are there, what is the answer for this equation and other task. I didn't get this at first but I remembered what my teacher said and it helped me.

Myths and Legends Map

Task Description: This is my first task in our second lock-down. This is about myths and legends. What we had to do was pick a myth or legend we have learnt about and put some facts down about that myth and then on the first slide we had to put the pin on the country our myth is from. The myth I did was from Croatia. This task was fun to make, I didn't have enough time so I only did was myth.
